Bless This Mess

On Friday, June 21st, Giving Room hosted a skateboarding party/concert in Ryan’s backyard in Atlanta, GA. Using ‘National Go-Skateboarding Day’ as the perfect driver to attract attention to the new ramps built at his house, alongside two of Atlanta’s hottest music forces, the night turned out to be a huge success with philanthropic bonuses. Our dear friends Upchuck and BABYSP1DER put on some of the best musical performances O4W (Old Fourth Ward, Atlanta) has ever seen, in what all can agree was the perfect venue. With skateboards flying off the packed ramps, black bean burgers being dished out, and some of the most energetic music being conjured, chaos naturally unfolded. Although the scene looked hectic, there was an underlying meaning to it all that created a congestive, positive atmosphere.

Thanks to contributions at the door, Upchuck x Giving Room shirt sales and a generous anonymous donation, over $1500 was donated to the University of Khartoum Alumni Association’s Food and Medicine for Sudan fundraiser.
